Dr Diarmuid Tiernan

I studied medicine at the University College, Dublin and graduated in 1982.

After spending several years in hospital medicine I embarked on a career as a General Practitioner in 1988, and was accredited as a GP with Special Interest in Rheumatology in March 2009.

I have gained experience in the use of acupuncture since 2001. My interest in bio-energy healing therapy came about by chance during a conversation with Michael Flatley's PA in Ireland. She told me how the legendary dancer and choreographer had been struck down by a mystery illness that various medical specialists were unable to treat.

Mr Flatley was brought back to full fitness after bio-energy treatment form Michael O' Doherty of the Plexus Institute. She put me in touch with Michael O' Doherty. Michael then treated my wife who had advanced breast cancer in 2010 and she felt very well after treatment and was helped considerably.

I became a trained and qualified therapist after 8 in-depth two day weekend courses. My areas of expertise were greatly enhanced by the theory taught and the practical workshops given, as well as, the emphasis put on each therapist's personal development.

I still practice as a GP for much of the working week and do a weekly specialist clinic in Rheumatology but I also use the bio-energy therapy skills outside my NHS practice.
